|
The collection of watercolours of the Tartu Art Museum comprises mainly of the works of 20th century Estonian artists, but there are also examples of Baltic German and Russian art.
The collection gives a good overview of the work by pastel masters of the beginning of the 20th century such as Ants Laikmaa and Oskar Kallis. There are interesting examples from the earlier work of Ado Vabbe and Jaan Vahtra. Also included are several works by the brothers Karl and Paul Burman and Natalie Mey, and from the post-war period by Karin Luts, Eduard Ole, Aleksander Pilar, Lagle Israel and Johannes Saal. |
